Up to 700,000 people are homeless on any given night in the US. 1 in 6 Americans — and 1 in 4 children — is food insecure. 1.6 billion people worldwide live in substandard housing.
Homelessness, poverty housing and hunger are real problems. All of us involved in real estate have an obligation to give back to our local and global communities.

At Share Our Strength, "No Kid Hungry" is much more than a tagline or campaign slogan: It is our reason for being. Every Taste of the Nation event we hold, each state partnership we forge, every nutrition education course we teach, and each new supporter who joins our network is a step toward the finish line - No Kid Hungry™ in America by 2015.
We have taken major steps toward this goal - adding new state partnerships to end childhood hunger, setting the 2015 deadline, which the Administration endorses, and engaging a growing network of supporters in the No Kid Hungry Campaign™.

SHELTER NETWORK
Shelter Network was founded in 1987 to provide a comprehensive and coordinated network of housing and social services for the homeless residents of the San Francisco Peninsula. Initiated by a broad-based community response to the plight of homeless families and single adults, Shelter Network is a model of community involvement. Since the beginning, the community's residents, businesses, local government organizations and religious communities have contributed their talent, time, and financial support to Shelter Network.
